Up for auction is this pair of 12ft 'Avon Duo' rods by top brand Fox. This model was the forerunner of the sought-after 'Duo-Lite' range.
One auction, 2 rods.
Test curve of both rods is stated as 1.00lb - however please note that I suspect one is actually from a 1.5lb rod. See the last 2 photos showing the tip diameters of each. I may be wrong but would rather highlight this upfront.
Only the Avon tip sections are present, there are no quiver carrier sections or tips.
Now for the better news - the 1.00lb tc section rod gives a superb progressive through action ideal for many methods and species. It's worth a bid just for this rod.
The suspected 1.5lb tc rod will obviously cater for heavier work. The 2 sections fit and feel fine - however please be aware that under heavy load in flowing water there may possibly be a 'hinge-effect' around the joint area and it could be vulnerable. Under normal use it will be fine.
Sorry no rod sleeves.
Condition - As previously mentioned there are no quiver carrier sections or tips. I suspect one Avon tip section is from a 1.5lb rod. Aside from this the blanks, guides and whippings are very good. Handle decent with a little wear but nothing excessive. No rod sleeves.
